We were lucky to get a play through survival mode, which is not unlike Gears of War 3's horde mode. Essentially you are tasked with defeating wave after wave of enemies, including juggernauts and yes...dogs. Not easy but incredibly rewarding.Whats going to be best MW3 or Battlefield 3 ?
The Beta is good, but very glitchy :S - apparently they've patched all the glitches, but aren;t going to release an update - still think they need another map on the 360 :/ . If only MW3 had a beta...

Okay, well this has happen to me numerous times and the solution for me is fairly simple. Ok so yes you should exit the download. Now try and re-download the game. It should work now and it will be faster because it pretty much saves the data already downloaded. If that doesn't work, Delete the Data from the hard drive screen and re-download.

HP Pavilion dv6-3250us laptop is great. The processor is super-fast, backlit keyboard is amazing, and I love the fingerprint scanner. The graphics look great. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone and I can't say enough about the backlit keyboard. It's kind of like getting your first DVR, you didn't see why everyone was making such a big deal about them, but once you get one you can't imagine going without it again.eye tips

OK so my grandpa bought me battlefield 3 for Christmas and my mom knows its a war game, but she doesn't know it that much, and she is like strict to violent violent shooters, do you guys think when i play the game she is going to take it away, and if yes, how do i convince her to let me play it again?Do you guys think that my mom will take away battlefield 3?
There really is no violence. I mean yes it is a war game but really it is nothing like GTA or Saints Row 3. The only thing about that game would be the language. Because it's a war game you have the f word in online and campaign. My mom doesn't care. Language is the only bad thing about that game. You may see a little thing of blood where somebody just died in online but it goes away shortly. Kick-azz grandpa by the way.
In all of my hours playing BF3, I have not seen any blood, any gore, any sexual content/references, any illegal substance reference, or any inhumane/sacrilegious content. The only con to this game is extensive cursing during the campaign mode, which was disappointing. If your mom isn't okay with you playing a game that reflects realistic warfare, which is basically a few shots and you're dead or getting bombed in a vehicle, then don't get it. But if you think she can handle that, then go for it. It's not violent at all compared to Fallout or Bioshock or GTA.Do you guys think that my mom will take away battlefield 3?
Keep it more of a secret, play when she's not around or get off when she's angry. If she catches you with it, try to pause to block the screen or go to main menu so she can't see. There really is no violence. I mean yes it is a war game but really it is nothing like GTA or Saints Row 3. The only thing about that game would be the language. Because it's a war game you have the f word in online and campaign. My mom doesn't care. Language is the only bad thing about that game. You may see a little thing of blood where somebody just died in online but it goes away shortly. Kick-azz grandpa by the way.
In all of my hours playing BF3, I have not seen any blood, any gore, any sexual content/references, any illegal substance reference, or any inhumane/sacrilegious content. The only con to this game is extensive cursing during the campaign mode, which was disappointing. If your mom isn't okay with you playing a game that reflects realistic warfare, which is basically a few shots and you're dead or getting bombed in a vehicle, then don't get it. I am only about 2 hours into the single player game but it is very disappointing compared to the PC version of Battlfield 2 from years ago.
There are spots in the game where you dont control anything but the cinematic scene rolls along. Then suddenly the "B" button flashes up or the Right Trigger flashes up. You have about a second to hit these - or you die.
There is a battle where you control weapons on a fighter. You basically watch the enemy to get a lock, he fires flares, then you launch a sidewinder....do this two or 3 times. It takes no skill, no strategic moves, and is no fun.
You use the "Y" button to toggle weapons as a solder. You use the right bumper to toggle weapons in the plane - no effort at all to be consistent. It almost looks like different programming teams did the different battles.
The battlefields are NOT open sandbox's but you can only walk or crawl in a narrow area. You hit invisible walls if you try to circle or flank enemies.
Compared to "Rage" or "Boarderlands" or "Dead Island" or the older Tom Clancy "Las Vegas" shooters - this game is like a poor console port.
Hopefully the multi-player will redeem it but for single player - it's a disappointment.

The multiplayer is amazing. The graphics are beautiful. And the game play is extremely smooth. It has jets, helicopters, tanks, jeeps and all sorts of things. There are four main classes you can choose from; Medic, Engineer, Assault, and Recon. All of which you can customize with different weapons and gadgets. Flying jets are really fun. Also this is a game where you have to work as a team or you are going to lose, no matter what. The teams are all split up into 4 people squads. You can chose which squad to join so if you want to be in one with your friends just join and empty one and have them join your squad. If you die and a squad member is alive and not being shot at you can spawn next to them so you don't have to walk all the way across the map. Most of the scenery is destructible. You can drive tanks around and blow up walls in building and knock down trees and what not. If your jet or helicopter gets shot down you can jump out and use a parachute before it blows up so you don't die.
Sorry for the long paragraph but this game is definitely one to at least try out. Once you play a few multiplayer matches online you will love it. And if you don't you can always sell it or just not even buy it in the first place. But I'm sure you will enjoy it a lot. The maps are way to big for walking so you need a vehicle ye... wrong there are none no where to be found anyway.. there is only 1 jet per map and good luck getting that, players are spawned inside the jets and choppers not that that matter cos you aint got a ****** hope gettin in one after these top gun masters are sitting at the pilots seat... tanks..hmm ye more like a go carts wi a gun!! 2 shots wi ath and there out o there but dont worry cos you'll never see who killed you cos you cant see anyone, which leads me to campers... and oh my god ******* campers snuck in there little dark corners waiting for someone anyone to come into there little web and kill them, however this will never happen because your only really alive for more than 2 minutes if your nowhere near any sort of combat... rush absolute pants there is no noise to alert if the bomb has been planted there is no idecation that your team are doing well there is no satisfaction for getting close to the target, but dont worry because if you do get to the target and kill the little camper and avoid the snipers on the ridge with there TATICAL INSERTION aka 'spawn beacon' then Tom ******* Cruise in his F14 Tomcat will surely blow you to **** with his advanced targetting system..... conquest again maps are to big it takes half hour just to get to a target then pap back to the start... Can I just say again YOU CAN SEE NOONE at all.. take pop shots into oblivion you might hit something... gaming scores are awfull 24 players in a whole round of rush top scorers only at 900 points apart from cougar and maverick no no they are sitting with 4000 points each, its balanced out over 4 games of rush and 2 conquest , everyone is **** noone knows what they are doing and its simply just ******* boring and I mean BORING.... I rather knit a scarf than play multiplayer again... Im going to finish single player and try and scrounge some money back.... but just to reiterate .. the game really is not Bad Company 2 or anywhere near it more like BrinkQuestion for those who already played Battlefield 3?

If you want a game where you can just go solo and kill people this might not be the right game for you. I have yet to try the single player but from what I heard it's okay but not the best.
i have really enjoyed battlefield 3 because it seems so realistic and has amazing graphics also i like the teamwork that people actually use in bf3 and the guns seem pretty balanced the gameplay just feels perfect and of course it has VEHICLES!

You can sneak up behind a guy, be 5 feet away fro mhim, shoot from the hip and totally MISS him, it happens way too often to shrug it off as crappy aiming. The sensitivity of ridiculous. Even with the sensitivity turn just about all the way down, it's STILL to sensitive. Aiming with a x3.4 or x4 score is very difficult. Forget about shooting anyone who's a hundred yards away, it's probably not gonna happen, the bullets just don't hit... I hope they fix this issue. What Graphics card would be good to run battlefield 3?

Getting a new card might require you to upgrade other hardware such as the PSU. Also the processor isn't very good, it will cause bottlenecking issues with a high end gpu. If you would want to upgrade the CPU, go for a quad. Although if you go with a quad you will also have to buy a new mobo to support it.

as aaron mentioned you have a intergrated audio processor...... these are built into the motherboard and rely on the cpu ..... however dedicated soundcards are pretty cheap and you can buy a impressive soundcard like the "Asus Xonar DG 5.1 PCI Sound Card "( http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Component鈥?/a> ) ..for just 拢24 .... and this is actually a very good soundcard
it also includes a headphone amp which is actually ideal for battlefeild 3 especially when playing online... however combined with a decent speaker set up you will get some excellent audio reproduction

it also includes a headphone amp which is actually ideal for battlefeild 3 especially when playing online... however combined with a decent speaker set up you will get some excellent audio reproduction

I'd suggest BF3, I have gears right now and it gets boring fast. The campaign is kinda fun, but nothing really good. I never had gears 1 or 2 so I couldn't follow the storyline that much. i would say yes but cause of the 570 try to change cases when you can the 400's had massive over heating issues the 500's arent as bad but the 580's over clocked [the 2 i have] and the 590's have been improved to be less hot so it would be cheaper to get a new case then a new card i switched from the antec 902 to the cooler master cosomos which helped with cooling a lot sorry i just need to warn you about it but yes it will run it on full

Should I get the open beta for Battlefield 3?
I have just got Gears of War 3 and Space marine and i'm playing them alot and I have pre-orderd Battlefield 3 but I don't wont to get the Beta because I want to play Gears of war 3 and Space marine before Battlefield 3 comes out. Is the beta worth downloading or should I just wait untill the full game comes out.Should I get the open beta for Battlefield 3?
I would hold off and keep playing Gears! The beta is kinda glitchy still and there's only one map and the full extent of the features isn't there (no vehicles to my knowledge). The only argument I really hear from Battlefield fan boys are that it's going to have better graphics. Now that may be true but what would you rather have: Graphics or Game play? But anyway, my opinion is Modern Warfare 3 will kill Battlefield in sales and game play.

In bf3, we will experience teamwork by utilizing each class' abilities to for example, replenish anothers' ammo, revive someone, repair someones tank,etc. I dont think we will know for sure how each game will compare, but this is just a breakdown and the reality of the gameplay mechanics of each game.

Lag and frames-per-second are two different things. Battlefield 3 will run at 30 fps on both the PS3 and the Xbox 360. COD Black Ops runs at 60 fps and lags all over the place. This is due to the host of the game actually running the game off of his or her console. DICE has dedicated servers for this game, any lag experienced by one player will (most likely) be experienced by all players rather than the COD experience where players with good connections enjoy a slightly better advantage than players with poor connections. Not to mention the host, who enjoys the massive advantage of zero lag.

We were lucky to get a play through survival mode, which is not unlike Gears of War 3's horde mode. Essentially you are tasked with defeating wave after wave of enemies, including juggernauts and yes...dogs. Not easy but incredibly rewarding.
I loved the Battlefield 3 Beta too, despite the bugs. It seems like you are already leaning toward Battlefield 3 and that's the one I would choose too if it had to be a choice.
The Battlefield games seem more realistic and it's more rewarding when a game goes well. But get both if you can.

The CPU however is possibly capable of running it but I doubt if it will be very smoothly when things get interesting in game and everything is kicking off.
You may find your board is capable of using a better CPU, check the manual (or look it up on the manufacturers website) and see what is the best you can install.
If your upgrading your computer, id look at spending the extra and buying a quad core phenom, or an Athlon X3.
From what i have been reading, battlefield 3 will use more then two cores, so in this case a tri or quad core cpu will benefit.
The reason why a tri or quadcore cpu will benefit is becuase there are more cores to adress the GPU drivers directly.
The reason why there is a CPU bottleneck with the higher end cards is because the CPU cannot cope with the extra load involved with adressing a more powerfull card.
Although the majority of games depend on the GPU more then the CPU, there is stil alot of intense work for the CPU to do aswell such as the sound and game code processing etc. Having more cores allow the CPU to process more data to the GPU. This is also true about the speed of the CPU itself.

The 6850 is fine, the Athlon II X2 250 is not.
At the very minimum, get an Athlon II X3 455. And in general, Athlons are weak... you'd want a Phenom II X4 955 or better (which includes ALL of Intel's Sandy Bridge processors) for BF3.

The reason why a tri or quadcore cpu will benefit is becuase there are more cores to adress the GPU drivers directly.
The reason why there is a CPU bottleneck with the higher end cards is because the CPU cannot cope with the extra load involved with adressing a more powerfull card.
Although the majority of games depend on the GPU more then the CPU, there is stil alot of intense work for the CPU to do aswell such as the sound and game code processing etc. Having more cores allow the CPU to process more data to the GPU. This is also true about the speed of the CPU itself.

The 6850 is fine, the Athlon II X2 250 is not.
At the very minimum, get an Athlon II X3 455. And in general, Athlons are weak... you'd want a Phenom II X4 955 or better (which includes ALL of Intel's Sandy Bridge processors) for BF3.

Will the m14x or Aurora run Battlefield 3 on high settings?
I'm thinking of selling my laptop to get the m14x (alienware laptop), and the main thing I want is to play battlefield 3 on high settings. If it can't do it, can the aurora? (an alienware desktop). And if that still doesn't cut it, how much will it cost to build one that does? Thanks :)Will the m14x or Aurora run Battlefield 3 on high settings?
Here's the deal. Either one is capable of playing Battlefield 3 on High Settings after a few hundred dollars in customization. Both computers are good, but you have to put more into them to really make them as powerful as you are looking for.
If you can swing the extra money and are looking for an awesome video game experience get the MSI GT683R. It currently holds the most powerful laptop video card available and is a much better deal than most alienware products at $1500.
If you want to build yourself something from scratch that can play BF3 on High Settings you can probably get it done for about $1000 if you look in the right places(i.e. Newegg and TigerDirect) and already have a keyboard/mouse/monitor and a copy of windows 7.Will the m14x or Aurora run Battlefield 3 on high settings?
