Red dead redemption is nothing like Grand theft auto. It takes place in the early 1900s in the final ages of the wild west and the game seams very real to me. The story line is absolutly fantastic and had me hooked. There is good replay value too. I can't even describe how great this game is, this is THE best game I have ever bought, Honestly if this game was 200 dollars, I would buy it. You will not be sorry if you buy this game!!
Both are great games and can't be compared. Knowing what type of games you like would help. Heres how i look at it, Red dead redemption tons of gameplay hours, open world to do what you want when you want, it is fun to mess around with, it has an online to play and mess around with friends, and has a great ending. Battlefield you get a great campaign with good graphics, co-op, and lastly a fun online(but it is preferred that you play with friends considering that this game is team based). In my opinion i would get red dead since it is cheaper and for christmas you can buy Battlefield 3.What is better, Red dead redemption or Battlefield 3?

Totally different games, but you could get red dead and Bad company 2 (Better than Battlefield 3).
The total would be less than battlefield 3.
Red dead is definitely one of the best games I've ever played....
I didn't like BF3 beta and never bought the game...
so personally I think red dead is worth it
It all depends on what you prefer, fps or a third person open-world game. i would pick red dead redemption
bf3 for online gameplay.
rdr foropen world do what you want good campaign.
