Lag and frames-per-second are two different things. Battlefield 3 will run at 30 fps on both the PS3 and the Xbox 360. COD Black Ops runs at 60 fps and lags all over the place. This is due to the host of the game actually running the game off of his or her console. DICE has dedicated servers for this game, any lag experienced by one player will (most likely) be experienced by all players rather than the COD experience where players with good connections enjoy a slightly better advantage than players with poor connections. Not to mention the host, who enjoys the massive advantage of zero lag.



30 fps is the standard benchmark for all racing and shooting games. If you actually wanted visual "hyper-realism" you wouldn't want anything below 500 fps. So the difference between 30 and 60 fps? Phffft.



DICE executive producer Johan Anderson has stated via twitter "We always do 30 fps on consoles, not possible to fit in vehicles, fx, scale and all players otherwise"
If I'm correct BFBC2 was also at 30fps on the PS3 (which I own) and is very smooth. If your worried about whether the frame rate will make a difference it won't, the game will likely be perfectly playable and not lag assuming you have a good connection when playing online. In regards to which one you want to buy, get whatever you like the look of the most. Personally I will be getting MW3 before BF3 (assuming I also get that) as I don't like a couple of changes that is being made and want to see some gameplay after release to see if it's fine.Battlefield 3 will running at 30 fps on ps3 will it lag?

30 fps is playable. if it wasn't, then the developers wouldn't limit the consoles to 30, right? moreoever, they wouldn't announce it either.
